Will Daryl get the job at Yelp?

Querent: Christopher
Time:11:12pm 6/17/10

Significator for the Querent: Saturn

House of the Question: The 10th House, Scorpio

Significator of the Quesited: Mars

Saturn is square the Sun, and in a Cadent House, with the Sun in a Succedent house. The Sun is more powerful, and is acting upon Saturn, which is in Virgo but orb Libra.

With the goal being to ascertain whether Daryl will get the job at Yelp he is interviewing for, I'll Turn the chart now in order to view Daryl's Tenth House, that signifies his profession.  His Tenth is Leo, in which we find Venus. Leo is a fiery house, the seat of fire. Venus is a the symbol of Love, suggesting love and happiness in his work.

The conjunctions between Saturn and the Sun (square) and Mercury and the Moon (square) add layers.....Saturn square with Sun implies powerful moderation and prudence, while Mercury square with Luna (which is a general significator for the entire matter), with Mercury in it's house of rulership, imply strong change and fluidity.

Mars, the significator for the quesited (in this instance representing Daryl) is not in conjunction with any of the other Planets, Mercury especially. I think this is significant, and implies that Daryl isn't truly invested in getting this particular job, despite having a strong urging for change.

I believe that Daryl will be offered the Job definitely, but may not accept if he deems it imprudent to do so.

When will Micah Walk?

6/16/10

Querent is Annie

Capricorn rising

Significator is Saturn, which is in the Virgo the 8th house, Square the Sun. Significator being Saturn suggests weakness or a feeling of weakness in the querent regarding the question, a feeling of being out of control and not powerful in this subject.

Saturn is in opposition to Jupiter-not good, with Jupiter being a symbol of happiness and being directly opposed to the Querent. This does, however, create a dynamic energy between the two, and the difficulty and struggle inherent in this conjunction could also fuel the positive acquisition of the goal. It could provide drive for the querent. Jupiter is also Square to the Sun. This creates tension, which is necessary for accomplishing goals, but also frustration. The Sun being square of Saturn is a positive thing, with the  dire effects of Saturn on the health being moderated.

The Moon is in conjunction with Mars, placed in Leo but Orbed into the 9th house of Virgo.  Being in the 9th House-representative of long journeys, and energized by Mars, a combatitive planet--walking will be a long term effort and a struggle.

The fourth House is from where we judge Fathers, and in this instance there are no planets, implying a secondary role for the father in this particular matter. The Father is  a Taurus himself, further identifying with the House in this chart.

House of the Question is the Fifth, (Gemini). Mercury is in Gemini. The Sun is in Gemini.

The significator for the Quesited (Micah) is Mercury. It is especially well aspected, as it is in the House it Rules. This tells me that the major decider here is when Micah himself is ready.

Turned

The turned rising house Gemini. Both the Sun and Mercury are here; Mercury is the planet of the Quesited, and being in it's house of Rulership it is especially Strong, placing power and command of the issue within the Quesited's hands. The first House is also strongly connected to the Querent's health (quesited when turned); the Sun in this house implies renewal and positive health and fitness gains. He will definitely walk at some point.

The Sun being square with Saturn (the Mother) and not directly square with Mercury (Micah) in this instance speaks to Annie being a heavy influence, but not the direct actor. Her actions influencing when Micah will walk, but unable to do the work for him, or to case the desired outcome on her own. It is heavily up to Micah, with Annie providing energy and inspiration.

Micah will likely walk within 90 months.

Horary Question: When will Kenny get Janet's job?

When will Kenny take over Janet's Job?

Time:12:56:22pm
San Jose,Ca
6/04/2010

Houses/Signs:
1-13 degrees 55 mins Virgo Asc
2-9 degrees 11mins Libra
3-8 degrees 56mins Scorpio
4-11 degrees 51 mins Sagitarius IC
5-15 degrees 12 mins Capricorn
6-16 degrees 6 mins  Aquarius
7-13 degrees 55 mins Pisces
8-9 degrees 13 mins Aries
9-8 degrees 56 mins Taurus
10-11 degrees 51 mins Gemini MC
11-15 degrees 12 mins Cancer
12-16 degrees 6 mins Leo

Planets:

Saturn: 27 degrees 51 mins 1st House/Virgo
Jupiter: 29 degrees 48 mins  Pisces
Mars:28 degrees 44 mins Leo
Venus:18 degrees 47 mins Cancer
Mercury:21 degrees 34 mins Taurus
Luna:13 degrees 3 mins Pisces
Sol:14 degrees 5 mins Gemini

Lord of the Ascendant:Mercury (also signifies the Querent)

Lord of the House that rules the Question (10th):Mercury

Almuten:

Aspects:

Mercury-Venus sextile
Moon-Venus Trine
Sun-Moon Square

As the Moon is always a Co-Significator of the Querent, this is an interesting thing to see. The Sun is in the second house (the house related to Wealth and pay)
and the square (oppositional) aspect with the Moon suggests a pulling away from the querents desires regarding their own wealth. The moon is in Pisces, suggesting
a hidden desire or motive of the Querent. This suggests the real question at the root of this issue, which is "Will I get Janet's position?"
The Moon is in the 7th house Pisces, which suggests a hidden adversary. The querent is oppossed to/competitive with the persons involved in the original question.

The querent will have positive change in his wealth and holdings, but will not get this particular position.

Kenny will take over Janet's job; the Querent and the Quesited in this question being the same Planet creates the same effect as the Conjunction.

Dignities:
None of the Planets are particularly ill or well dignified. Saturn is powerful, and in the first house. Saturn in the first house is generally a good sign.

First Errors =)

Well, that didn't take long. Caught my first error as well, and corrected....I hope.

I've mis-red. Turns out, Saturn is in the 3rd house, not the 4th. the 8th house is the house of Death, not the fourth. Capricorn is in the Eight house,
which it rules. Saturn rules Capricorn; however, Saturn is in Libra, the House that rules Travel. Saturn is in Opposition to Jupiter, which is in it's house of Rulership
and very well dignified. Jupiter is the stronger planet here, and would exert an ameliorating influence on Saturn. The Moon and Significator is in opposition to the Sun;
it is in the 6th House, which is associated with sickness and disease.

I would draw from this that the Lietenant will perhaps acquire an injury over the course of this dangerous journey, but nothing serious. He will survive and return home!

First Horary

Ave,

Here's my first attempt at Horary. I am clearly a novice, but let's hope that changes. I'm going to attempt a couple a day, and hope to be an expert in a years time.

Signs and Houses

Cancer Rising, in the first house
2nd house Leo
3rd house Virgo IC
4th house Libra
5th House Scorpio
6th House Sagitarius
7th House Capricorn-Descendant
8th House  Capricorn
9th House Aquarius
10th House Pisces MC
11th House Aries
12th House Gemini

Planets

Sun- 7 degrees 10 minutes Gemini    Dignity-in the twelfth House, poor
Moon- 15 degrees 12 minutes Sagitarius Dignity-none
Mercury- 12 degrees 26 minutes Taurus Dignity-none
Venus- 10 degrees 14 minutes Cancer-none
Mars- 25 degrees 5 minutes Leo-none
Jupiter-28 degrees 45minutes Pisces Dignity-Rulership/House +5
Saturn- 27 degrees 50 minutes Virgo Dignity-none

Significator:
The Lord of the Ascendant is the Moon.

Significant:
The Moon is in opposition to the Sun.

The Moon being in Opposition to the Sun creates tension between the two Planets.

What is the question?
Will Lieutenant **** survive his trip to Afghanistan?

Which House best fits the answer to this question?
The First House, as it has to do with the Life of a man, or the Eigth house, as it has to do with the quality of a man's death and the Nature of that Death.

Which Planet is the Almuten of the Figure (has the most dignities)?
Jupiter

Answer:

The significator for the question is the Moon, which is in direct opposition to the Sun, symbol of life. The Significator is in a Cadent house and is therefore weak,
further skewing things negative. In the fourth House is Virgo, a barren sign, within which is Saturn. Saturn is in Opposition to Jupiter, the planet full of Joy and
Happiness. Finding Saturn, the lord of death, within the Fourth House which rules Death is also troubling. Perhaps Jupiter would have an ameliorating effect on Saturn
I would determine from this chart that **** will be in constant danger, and unlikely to return from this conflict alive.

*name replaced due to the nature of the question, which requires some sensitivity.

Interesting Writer

John Frawley seems to know what he's taking about, and has nothing but derision for the modern-styled Astrologer. I hadn't realized the lines where drawn so sharply between the Classically styled and the Moderns....I've yet to read a (living) Horary Astrologer who didn't think modern Astrology was a discipline packed with fools. I don't know enough yet to determine whether this is unfortunate or simply a truthful view of the Modern, but I hope that as I develop as in classical Astrology I'll see reason to respect the moderns as well. We'll see. Perhaps this derision is deserved.

Studying, studying, studying

Ave,

There is much more depth to this discipline than I initially understood. There is an amazing tradition of Horary Astrology, and Astrological Magic. There has been a rich flowering of traditional sources that has opened up this field to the dedicated and focused aspirant. Three things in particular stand out for me:

Christopher Warnock/John Michael Greer's translation of the Picatrix (not having to learn Latin to read this is like a miracle). Those two gentlemen are both respected and experienced Adepts....buy their books, and support them. Frater Warnock and his website served as great inspiration for me in this area. He offers classes in Horary Astrology and classical magic. I'm planning to study the classical texts and developing myself, and taking Fra Warnock's classes as funds allow. His Spiritus Mundi group is an excellent resource for the aspiring Astrologer.

My plan is to perform one Election/interpret one Chart each day, for a couple of years. Experience paired with study should get the job done....I'll also be working classical Astrological Magic, as described in the Picatrix and in Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy. I'm currently working through Christian Astrology, as it seems to be a root tome for understanding the Horary mysteries.

One thing that has been ridiculously convenient--if a bit unromantic--is the abundance of software available for creating Horoscopes. I took the time to learn how to do it the hard way, using an Ephemeris. Hard work, but it gave me a visceral understanding of how the Planets and Sign move within one another. I had a rather romanticized view of things, and thought I would just do it the old school way...until I tried the ZET software. It makes me sad for some reason, but Not using software is just foolish. I'm a lot more prone to make mistakes than the software, may as well use the best tools available.
